I approach my skin care routine like a highly trained military operation. What begins in the morning with a soothing cleanser is followed by a healthy barrage of moisturizers and SPF creams. What I often forget is a daily skin care routine for my lips. Well, this neglect stopped the minute I bumped into this lovely bottle of Emerge made by Bioscience Therapies.
The moment I applied Emerge, my lips were instantly moisturized. Immediately, this black bottle of goodness intrigued me. After reading the product packaging I realized that this product not only moisturizes, it also has the added benefit of a lip volumizer. Wait, really?! But it didn’t burn like other volumizers, so does it work?
Within a week of using this product my lips were smoother and moisturized. The lines and wrinkles of aging appeared to be lessened on my lips. By the second week I noticed an improvement in the way that my lipstick and various lip glosses looked. The color was brighter and the feathering was minimal. And, yes my lips were a little fuller which is really great when it comes to looking fabulous when wearing lipstick or going commando.
I really love a product that can multitask; Emerge can be used alone or with any of my favorite lip colors. I highly recommend this product for all women that want a moisturizer, gloss and plumping product all in one bottle. In fact, I’m going to purchase another tube of this amazing moisturizer so that I can keep one in my purse for the days when I’m on the go and one at home for daily morning use. Arginine is an amino acid that has been shown to increase vasodilation (means increases circulation through the little tiny blood vessels) as a precursor to nitric oxide, and topically effective in a dose of 400 mg/ml. It requires multiple applications per day as the effect is very short lasting. Stop using, stop plumping. However, the moisturizing and anti-oxidant properties may linger and contribute to overall lip health. We are awaiting further info from the company regarding the science, so stay tuned!
